Add a watermark to a PDF

Stamp a text watermark such as CONFIDENTIAL, CONTROLLED COPY or DRAFT across every page, diagonally or horizontally.

Supported file: PDF. You can also drag it here

Mark your documents to control their use

A watermark makes clear a document's status or permitted use: confidential, copy, draft or valid only for a specific purpose. It discourages misuse of copies of your ID or other personal documents.

The text is automatically centered on each page, with transparency so the content stays readable.

How to add a watermark, step by step

  1. 1

    Select the PDF.

  2. 2

Type the stamp text and choose the color and orientation.

  3. 3

    Download the watermarked PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it to protect a copy of my ID?

Yes. A good practice is to write the permitted use, for example: ONLY FOR APARTMENT RENTAL - 2026.

Can the watermark be removed?

PDF editors can remove it. To make that harder, run the file through Flatten PDF afterwards.

Can I use an image or logo?

For now the watermark is text only.
