Frequently asked questions

What is metadata for?

To identify and search documents without opening them, and so the right title appears when they're opened.

Does this convert the PDF to PDF/A?

No. PDF/A is an archiving standard with extra technical requirements that this tool doesn't apply.

What if I want to remove all metadata?

Use the Remove Metadata tool.
